For two decades, the roar of futsal courts across Malaysia has echoed with more than just goals and cheers. It’s been the sound of dreams in motion thanks to MILO® Hidup Bola. Since 2005, over 200,000 young Malaysians have joined the movement, discovering not only their athletic strength but also the values of teamwork, discipline, and resilience.
Now in its 20th year, MILO® Hidup Bola isn’t just a sports initiative. It’s a national legacy, producing professional athletes and grounded individuals who have gone on to represent Malaysia on the international stage.
From Courts to Champions, A Futsal Legacy
From its early days, MILO® Hidup Bola set out to do more than just teach futsal. It aimed to nurture character through the game. Coach Chiew Chun Yong, former head coach of Malaysia’s men’s national futsal team, played a key role in shaping the programme. His guidance has helped countless children transform into confident, disciplined players.
Many of today’s top futsal and football players began their journey here. Nik Akif Syahiran Nik Mat, now with Penang FC, and Nur Alya Marissa, an international futsal athlete, both credit MILO® Hidup Bola for laying the foundation of their careers. Other alumni like Azri Ghani (KL City) and Arif Aiman (JDT FC) also trained under this initiative, proving its consistent ability to discover and groom talent.
Dhiyaa Addin’s Barcelona Journey

Beyond national borders, the impact of this programme continues to shine. Nur Dhiyaa Addin, who was named Best Young Player in the 2024 National Women’s League, shared her experience training with FC Barcelona through the MILO Champions Clinic. She recalls, “Tiki-Taka drills, 11-hour training days, and new skills every week pushed me beyond limits. But MILO’s message ‘Takkan Gentar’ (Never Give Up) was my anchor.”
Her journey from a local clinic to international acclaim is not rare among MILO® Hidup Bola participants. However, her story captures what the programme truly represents a space where dreams are not only made but pursued with grit and guidance.
Sports as a Tool for Life Lessons

According to Coach Yong, futsal is more than flashy footwork. “We teach them how to play as a team, understand the game, and grow emotionally. These aren’t just sports skills, these are life skills, communication, leadership, and responsibility.”
MILO® Hidup Bola has helped children become athletes who support their teammates as much as they shine individually. And through well-structured modules introduced in 2015, even children new to the sport have found a nurturing environment to grow.
MILO®’s Commitment to Building Future Generations

MILO®’s role goes far beyond sponsorship. According to Lim Kerwin, Head of Sports Marketing at Nestlé Malaysia, “We’re not just building players; we’re developing leaders. Every child deserves a chance to chase their dreams, and we’re here to ensure they get it.”
As the programme continues to grow, so does its impact uniting coaches, parents, and young athletes in a shared goal that is creating a better future through sports. Whether it’s grassroots futsal tournaments or advanced training clinics, MILO® Hidup Bola is committed to keeping the passion for the sport alive.
