The nationwide search for Malaysia’s best LEGO® talents is finally over! LEGOLAND Malaysia is excited to introduce Zariq Mohd Ali, 30, from Kuala Lumpur, as the first-ever Master Model Builder in the country. With his incredible skills, creative ideas, and lifelong love for LEGO, he’s definitely the right choice for this role.
Zariq will be building awesome LEGO models for the park and leading hands-on workshops and play sessions, making the magic of LEGO come alive in new and fun ways.
Creating Unforgettable Memories For LEGO Enthusiasts

His new role is a big deal for LEGOLAND® Malaysia, as they aim to give guests unforgettable experiences. Zariq’s cool designs and builds will inspire families and kids, and as the resort’s ambassador, he’ll also create fun and educational social media content and help put together exciting events at the park.
Zariq is thrilled about his new position. He said,
This is truly my dream job! LEGO has been a constant companion throughout my life. Growing up, my family moved around a lot and one of the few things that stayed with me during this time was LEGO. Being able to share my love for LEGO with others feels like the opportunity of a lifetime. I’m excited to get started and hope to bring the same joy that LEGO has given me over the years to the kids visiting LEGOLAND® Malaysia.

Meet Malaysia’s First-Ever Master Model Builder!
From 15 November 2024 to 5 January 2025, fans and guests can meet Zariq during the LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort Brick-tacular Holidays! There will also be an exclusive Builder Masterclass workshop where they can pick up tips and tricks from the Master himself.
Here are five fun facts to get to know Zariq better:
- Globetrotter: Born in France, Zariq has lived in various countries, like Mexico, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Thailand, before settling in Malaysia.
- Multilingual Expert: He speaks five languages fluently, including English, Malay, and French, plus some Chinese and Spanish.
- Beyond The Builds: Zariq used to be a Business Development Manager and has a degree in International Relations and Economics.
- Inspired By Travel: His childhood adventures inspired his Master Model Builder submission—a cool Skyline Build featuring his favourite cities around the world!
- A LEGO Family: Zariq owes his early introduction to LEGO to his Danish cousins, who come from the birthplace of LEGO!
