Record: The first living species named after a character from the Spongebob Squarepants cartoon series is Spongiforma squarepantsii, an orange-coloured fungus that has a sponge-like texture discovered in Lambir Hills National Park in Sarawak, Malaysia, and first described in 2011 in the scientific journal Mycologia.

4. Tallest Living Hardwood Tree
Record: The world’s tallest living hardwood tree is a specimen of yellow Meranti (Shorea faguetiana) located in Danum Valley Conservation Area in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo was climbed by Unding Jami of the Southeast Asia Rainforest Research Partnership and measured by direct tape-drop to be 98.53 m (323 ft 3.1 in) tall.

Record: Based on the surface area, the largest cave chamber in the world, its length is approximately 700 metres (2,300 feet), its average width is 300 metres (980 feet) and it is at least 70 metres (230 feet) high and its surface area has been calculated to be 154,530 square metres (1.66 million square feet) as of 2015.

7. Smallest Elephant (Species)
Record: The world’s smallest elephant is the Borneo pygmy, which is a sub-species of, and 30 % smaller than, the Asian elephant. An adult male measures 1.7-2.6 m (5 ft 6 in-8 ft 6 in) tall, whereas the female is 1.5-2.2 m (4 ft 11 in-7 ft 2 in) in height.
