Celebrate Malaysia’s rich culinary heritage! Malaysia Airports is proud to present ‘Warisan Kulinari Kita’ at KL International Airport (KLIA), a flavorful tribute to the nation’s diverse cuisine.
Immerse yourself in Malaysia’s unique flavors and time-honored cooking techniques, reflecting the 2024 Merdeka and Malaysia Day theme, “Malaysia Madani: Jiwa Merdeka.”
Malaysia Day Event’s Immersive Cultural Experience
At KLIA, a display of Rumah Kampung Limas, a life-sized traditional kampung house will take center stage for fun activities. The display area provides different sections showcasing the culinary heritage of Malaysia. Visitors can find it in the Departure Hall at Level 5, KLIA Terminal 1.
For the first time, Malaysia Airport brings this year’s Malaysia Day event a paddy field installation. It will be within the airport, showcasing rice as Malaysia’s staple food in KLIA T1. The display adds a touch of our homeland’s beautiful nature to the bustling airport environment.
Food Unites All Malaysians
Visitors have the opportunity to explore the Herbs Garden (Taman Herba), where they can watch live cooking demonstrations. They can learn more about the use of natural and locally sourced ingredients incorporated into our cuisines.
Malaysia Airports’ food and beverage tenants will also take part in this joyous occasion by featuring curated items on their menus. Visitors will also have the chance to see a variety of traditional rice-based dishes from across the country, including Nasi Lemak, Nasi Kerabu, Chicken Rice, Nasi Biryani, and Nasi Kombos on display. This wide array of rice-based dishes celebrates how rice unites the nation’s diverse ethnic groups.
