There is something quietly powerful about fries done right. Not the rushed, soggy kind, but the golden, audibly crisp fries that usually arrive steaming hot from a restaurant kitchen. This January, Lamb Weston is closing that gap by bringing professional-grade fries straight into Malaysian homes, no deep fryer required.
With its official retail debut in Malaysia, the global frozen potato specialist is betting on one thing: Malaysians know good food when they taste it.
A Global Potato Pioneer Lands In Malaysia
Backed by more than 75 years of innovation, Lamb Weston is no newcomer to the food industry. Founded in 1950 in the Pacific Northwest of the United States, the brand has grown into one of the world’s largest frozen potato suppliers and a trusted partner for restaurants and QSRs worldwide.
After a successful Singapore retail launch in late 2025, Malaysia marks the next milestone in Lamb Weston’s Southeast Asia expansion. The fries are now available at leading grocery retailers including Village Grocer, Ben’s Independent Grocer, AEON, Jaya Grocer, The Food Merchant, De market and QRA.
Six Signature Fry Cuts, Each With A Personality

Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, Lamb Weston introduces six distinct fry styles designed to suit different moods, meals, and moments.
From the playful curves of Twister™ Fries Seasoned, to the extra-crispy edges of Waffle Fries Seasoned, and the nostalgic crunch of Ziggy™ Fries Seasoned, each cut brings its own texture and character. The range also includes Potato Dippers™ Natural, Rustic Fries Natural, and Grill Fries Salt & Pepper, offering everything from dipping-friendly shapes to bold, savoury crunch.
The Science Behind The Crunch
What sets lamb weston fries apart is its proprietary Stealth™ batter technology. This is an invisible coating that helps fries stay crispy for up to twice as long compared to uncoated fries. Whether cooked in an air fryer or oven, the result is a consistent crunch with a fluffy interior, all without added oil or deep frying.
All products are Halal-certified, vegan, and gluten-free, ensuring they fit seamlessly into diverse Malaysian households and dietary preferences.
Sustainability Served With Every Pack

Beyond taste and texture, Lamb Weston is also sharpening its focus on sustainability. The new retail packaging is 20% thinner and made with at least 60% bio-renewable polyethylene derived from used cooking oil, part of the brand’s broader commitment to halving food waste and reducing carbon emissions by 25% by 2033.
As families gather for festive occasions like Lunar New Year, Ramadan, or simple movie nights at home, lamb weston fries aim to become more than just a side dish. They are positioned as a shared experience… crispy, comforting, and crafted for everyday joy!
