Their commitment to giving back ensures these families can celebrate the festival of lights without the shadows of financial worry.
Alleviating Financial Burden With IJM Land
As part of its ongoing commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), IJM Land Seremban 2 identified 6 families in the Seremban area who have been facing financial challenges. Each family received RM1,000 in cash and daily essentials worth RM600. From rice and cooking oil to festive cookies, they made sure these families could fully immerse themselves in the joy of Deepavali.
The Senior General Manager of IJM Land Berhad, Datuk Chai Kian Soon shared that this year marks the programme’s 7th anniversary. He further stated,
Each year, we meet families who, due to financial difficulties, are unable to fully experience the vibrant celebrations of Deepavali. Through our support, we aim not only to ease their financial burdens but also to create an equal opportunity for them to join in the festivities.

Meaningful Deepavali Holiday With IJM Land
One of this year’s beneficiaries was Madam Komathi Nyana Tambi‘s family. Madam Komathi’s family faces immense struggles after her stroke and her husband’s mobility issues. With her son as their sole breadwinner, the programme lightens their load and allows them to focus on what truly matters this holiday.
Next is a 51-year-old Madam Vali Perumal. As a single mother of two children, Madam Vali stands as a strong person who supports her family after the sudden loss of her husband to a heart attack. Though she’s a hardworking operator, making ends meet remains a struggle. The support financial aid and daily essentials bring a much-needed breath of relief for her and her family.
Also, the programme even reached last year’s myHome Programme beneficiary. Madam Komala Tanjoh Maleh, balances limited income with the costs of supporting two school-going sons. Other recipients, including Mohana Babu Raman, Kogulabalan Gunasilan, and Madam Komathy Arumugam, also received assistance to alleviate their financial burdens. With IJM Land’s support, the 6 families can have a holiday that brings happiness rather than hardship.
The resilience demonstrated by these families highlights the importance of our ongoing commitment to making a meaningful difference.
