This October, the International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak 2025 (IDECS25) will debut “AI Artventure”. It’s an interactive digital art gallery that redefines how we see, experience, and create art in the digital age.
Where Imagination Meets Intelligence
From 22 to 26 October 2025, Balai Rong Hall at Makeramai Makerspace, Plaza Merdeka, Kuching, will transform into an arena of colour, creativity, and code. This is where imagination meets intelligence in a stunning fusion of human artistry and machine learning.
A First-of-Its-Kind Showcase For The Digital Generation
Organised by IDECS25 and powered by Crave Asia Sdn Bhd, the Digital Art Gallery 2025 (DAG25): AI Artventure stands as a movement. Designed to spotlight the talent of Sarawak’s young creators, the gallery takes student-made artworks and reimagines them using advanced AI technology.
Each masterpiece will come alive on a five-metre interactive digital wall, evolving dynamically as viewers engage with it. The theme, “Green Planet,” encourages students to envision a sustainable future. This reminds visitors that art and technology can work hand-in-hand to inspire environmental consciousness and innovation.
Amirrul Rizwan Mohd Abd Hafiz, Lead Secretariat of IDECS25, shared:
“By bringing together the imagination of our youth and the power of AI, we are proving that technology can be inclusive, inspiring, and transformative. This exhibition is a statement of Sarawak’s commitment to nurturing digital talent from the ground up.”
Turning Classrooms Into Creative Powerhouses
The AI Artventure Competition invites students from all over Sarawak to submit their “Green Planet” themed artworks through their online submission platform. Each submission will not only be digitally transformed but also proudly displayed with the artist’s name and school.
Prizes worth RM15,000, sponsored by Wonderpark, are up for grabs, including a 65-inch Interactive iBoard for the school with the most entries and iPads for the most creative AI artworks. Every student will receive an e-certificate and a digital copy of their AI-enhanced art, while members of the public who participate also stand a chance to win an iPad.
Hands-On STEAM And Play Zones
Beyond the art wall, IDECS25 is transforming the experience into an educational playground. Visitors can immerse themselves in four hands-on STEAM zones designed to spark curiosity and creativity among all ages:
- Art Zone: Drawing and colouring activities.
- Engineering Zone: Building fun with magnetic blocks.
- Construction Zone: Engaging Lego creations.
- Craft Zone: Beadwork and creative crafts.
Just steps away, the Makeramai Playzone, part of the Makeramai Makerspace by the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC), offers a tech-meets-play experience with Nintendo Switch gaming, Virtual Reality (VR) adventures, and 3D Pen activities, showcasing how digital innovation can make creativity accessible, joyful, and limitless.
