Landing a job was never easy especially in times of pandemic. However, the national employment portal, MYFutureJobs seems to be an effective site to find a job. This is because Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan shared that MYFutureJobs has successfully helped 253,785 Malaysians to secure employment in 2021, as reported by BERNAMA.
Government’s efforts in helping people to find a job
The minister said that the placements, undertaken by the Social Security Organisation (SOCSO), prove that the government has done its best to help the people.
This comes after thousands of workers from various sectors were severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Employment opportunity via MYFutureJobs
MYFutureJobs is a portal created by the government to ensure that local employment is given priority for vacant job positions in Malaysia. On top of that, it provides a convenient platform for employers and jobseekers to connect with each other for any possibility in working together.
In the ‘Upcoming Interviews’ category, job seekers can check for the latest announcement of available interviews from different companies.

Other initiatives by the government
The people of Malaysia needed more support from the government especially during the pandemic. Thus, recognising this important fact, the government has also implemented various other initiatives to ensure the people’s continued survival.
SOCSO Wage Subsidy programme
The SOCSO’s Wage Subsidy programme is one of the initiatives by the government. The programme has successfully rescued many local companies from winding up. Moreover, it also helped workers who have lost their jobs and source of income during difficult times.
SOCSO Employment Insurance Scheme
Apart from that, the SOCSO Employment Insurance Scheme introduced in 2018 had also played a big role in protecting retrenched workers and ensuring financial stability during the pandemic period.
Government initiatives like these have helped the country recover from the effects of the pandemic
Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan said at the Socso Media Awards Night
Media’s role in highlighting government’s effort
Meanwhile, the minister also expressed his gratitude to media practitioners for highlighting the government’s initiatives in helping those impacted by the pandemic.
He added that government was aware of the media’s role and hope that the relationship between the Ministry of Human Resources and its agencies, especially Socso and the media could be strengthened.
Contributions by media practitioners can never be repaid in any form. Your professionalism should be given due recognition.
