Ministry of Transport Malaysia announced on their Facebook page that JPJ and the PDRM are offering up to 80% discount off traffic summonses from 9 December to 12 December. This is to commemorate the 100 Hari Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia which is organised by the government.
80% discount is only for unpaid summonses issued in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya
Ministry of Transport Malaysia did mention that the 80% discount is only for unpaid traffic summonses issued in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that other states will be left out. A total of 70% will also be discounted for summonses from the other states.

However, what we can conclude from National Security Council (MKN) Facebook post, that the discount doesn’t apply to all types of offences. Below is the list of traffic summonses that are exempted from the discount:
- Accident summonses in 2021
- Non-compoundable summonses
- Summonses that require a court hearing
- Summonses for matters related to lorries
- Summonses for overtaking in a dangerous manner in 2021
- Summonses for driving on the emergency lane in 2021
- Summonses for running red lights in 2021
- Summonses for overtaking on a double line in 2021
- Summonses for illegally modified exhausts
Payment counter for the discount campaign will be opened at KLCC
Payment counters for the campaign will operate from 9 am to 10 pm, starting from 9 December until 12 December.
Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) said the discounted traffic summonses will only be accepted to the mentioned location at the time and dates stated, and are subject to terms and conditions.
