The term “Dewakan” is a combination of the Malay words “dewa,” which means god, and “makan,” which means “to eat”. The Dewakan KL team celebrates and honors the local farmers, fishermen, and craftspeople while honoring the abundance of the surrounding regions. Chef Darren Teoh creates a culinary painting on the plates by connecting local products and ingredients from Malaysia’s nature.

On November 17, the MICHELIN Guide presented Dewakan with its second star during an award ceremony.
In the inaugural French guide award ceremony held in Malaysia last year, the restaurant received one Michelin star.
Head chef and founder Darren Teoh, according to Malay Mail, accepted the trophy during the ceremony and enthusiastically acknowledged his team.
