Cherry Yeo Xiao Wei, an 18-year-old national dancer from Malaysia, made headlines this past weekend. She won 3 gold medals at the renowned Mallorca Dance Festival in Calvia, Spain. Yeo won 3 solo female Latin divisions over the three-day event. Other than that, she also took home a bronze in the festival’s adult solo female Latin category.

18 Year Old Bags 3 Gold

The 18-year-old has carved her name victoriously in 2 competitions. They are the Youth Female Solo Latin and Adult Female Solo Latin competitions. Both are competitions held under the 2023 World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) championship.
She defeated 53 other female competitors to win for the first time. She beat off 37 other athletes from 14 other countries to win the second gold medal.

Yap Wan Xin, Madeleine Lau Yu Xuan, Nicole Lim Le Wei, and Taraneh Ahmadi Zeidabadi were the other four dancers from the Kuala Lumpur DanceSport Association who participated in the festival.
The association stated that Cherry Yeo Xiao Wei’s exceptional accomplishment was a result of the first-rate coaching she received from Evon Chong and Chua Zjen Fong.
