BlackBerry Limited proudly accepted the BrandLaureate DigiTech BestBrands Award 2024 for Cybersecurity Education & Solutions at an awards ceremony last night in Malaysia. This recognition highlights BlackBerry’s leadership in advancing cybersecurity education, fostering innovation, and delivering solutions to today’s digital challenges.
Recognised For Cybersecurity Excellence
Organised by The World Brands Foundation (TWBF), the DigiTech BestBrands Awards recognise pioneers who show a strong commitment to innovation and transformative technologies. Pioneering Cybersecurity Initiatives

The award highlights BlackBerry’s key initiatives, including the Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (CCoE) in Cyberjaya. This centre was established in collaboration with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). The project reflects BlackBerry’s role in Malaysia’s cybersecurity ecosystem. It also showcases its collaborative approach, elevating the CCoE on an international stage.
BlackBerry is expanding the CCoE cybersecurity curriculum through partnerships with certified cybersecurity training providers. On 17 November, BlackBerry expressed gratitude for the Government of Canada‘s announcement. They will invest $3.9 million (CAD) in Malaysia, as announced at the APEC Leaders’ Summit. This funding will support cybersecurity training programmes and threat intelligence initiatives at the CCoE.
These efforts aim to enhance cyber resilience in Southeast Asia, including programmes to empower women in cybersecurity, addressing the critical skills gap in this sector.
