ASICS Malaysia continues to champion the future of sports by taking grassroots badminton to the next level through its title sponsorship of the ASICS MASISWA Badminton Championship 2025. Held from 26 to 28 June at Taylor’s University Grand Hall, Subang Jaya, the three-day tournament was a thrilling showcase of talent, determination, and youthful spirit. Over 350 student-athletes from 15 private universities (IPTS) across Malaysia competed in singles and doubles events under both the MASISWA Open and Bakat Baru (Beginner) categories.
Second Edition Brings More Heat to the Court

The energy did not end there. From 28 to 30 June, the second edition of the ASICS Badminton University Cup continued the action. This edition brought together 25 teams from 15 institutions battling it out in a showdown of skill and spirit. The spotlight moment was during a nail-biting final, where HELP University triumphed over the defending champions, UCSI University, led by standout captain Poopathi Velayutham.
ASICS Champions Character and Community
ASICS’ involvement in both tournaments reflects a mission that goes beyond competition. It is about nurturing holistic growth, shaping students not only into skilled athletes but also into focused, resilient individuals. Recognized by Majlis Sukan IPTS Malaysia (MASISWA), these tournaments provided an elite platform for young talents to sharpen their skills, build confidence, and embrace the true spirit of sportsmanship. The Country Manager of ASICS Malaysia shared,
“We are proud to support young Malaysians on their athletic journeys. These young athletes represent the future of Malaysian sports. By investing in platforms like this, we’re not just fuelling their athletic growth but we’re also encouraging healthier minds, stronger bodies, and more resilient communities.”
