Malaysia will once again welcome the global halal industry when the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2026 takes place from 23 to 26 September at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur.
Organised by MATRADE, the annual event has become one of the world’s largest halal trade exhibitions. This year’s edition is expected to attract thousands of exhibitors, buyers and trade visitors from around the world while generating more than US$1 billion in potential trade value.
More than a trade exhibition, MIHAS continues to strengthen Malaysia’s reputation as a trusted destination for halal business and international trade.
A Growing Platform for Malaysian Businesses

For local companies, MIHAS offers more than exhibition space.
It provides direct access to overseas buyers, distributors and investors who are actively looking for halal-certified products and services. Many businesses use the event to explore export opportunities, expand regional partnerships and introduce new products to international markets.
As demand for halal products continues to rise, events like MIHAS give Malaysian businesses an opportunity to compete on a much larger stage.
The Halal Economy Continues to Expand
The halal economy now reaches well beyond food and beverages.
Today, it includes cosmetics, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, logistics, Islamic finance, tourism and modest fashion. With growing Muslim populations and increasing consumer awareness, many companies now see halal certification as part of their long-term growth strategy.
Industry estimates suggest the global halal market is worth more than US$2 trillion, with Asia Pacific remaining its largest and fastest-growing region.
Why Timing Matters
MIHAS comes at a time when several Southeast Asian markets are strengthening halal standards.
Indonesia’s expanding halal certification requirements, for example, are encouraging more businesses to prepare for regional expansion and compliance. This makes exhibitions like MIHAS valuable not only for networking but also for understanding market requirements.
Businesses that prepare early can position themselves more effectively before entering new markets across ASEAN.
Beyond the Exhibition Hall
The impact of MIHAS extends across Kuala Lumpur during the event.
Hotels, convention venues, restaurants and business districts all become meeting points for international delegates. Many exhibitors also organise private meetings, networking sessions and product launches throughout the week.
For businesses, the exhibition offers opportunities to build relationships that continue long after the event closes.

Companies interested in participating are encouraged to begin preparations early.
Exhibitors can secure booth space, while buyers can register for hosted business matching programmes through the official MIHAS website. Businesses can also use the event to strengthen their branding and connect with potential partners before and during the exhibition.
