As the clock inches toward midnight on 31 December, Kuala Lumpur will not just be welcoming a new year. It will be unveiling Malaysia’s bold invitation to the world. This New Year’s Eve, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur transforms into the epicentre of celebration, spectacle and national pride as the Visit Malaysia 2026 Countdown Festival ignites the capital in a way Malaysia has never done before.
This is not just a countdown. It is sort of a statement.
A Midnight Moment Powered Everything Powerful

When the final seconds of 2025 tick away, the sky above Pavilion Kuala Lumpur will erupt into a synchronised pyromusical experience combining fireworks, lasers and immersive light projections. The visual centrepiece of the night will be a striking 3D anamorphic display featuring Wira and Manja, the Malayan Sun Bear mascots of Visit Malaysia 2026, welcoming crowds into the new year.
Designed as a seamless blend of technology and narrative, the countdown promises a cinematic moment that positions Malaysia confidently on the global stage: bold, creative and ready to be seen.
A Star-Studded Line-Up That Reflects Malaysia’s Sound

The festival’s main stage will host one of the most dynamic artist line-ups assembled for a New Year’s Eve celebration in the country. Powerhouse performers including Shila Amzah, Aina Abdul, Belle Sisoski, Vanessa Reynauld and Kidd Santhe will headline the night, alongside acts such as The Kuans, Nazu, Danson Ooi, Euzen and Penny.
Together, they represent the depth of Malaysia’s contemporary music scene. It’ll be a mix of genres, languages and identities that mirrors the nation itself. The performances are curated not just to entertain, but to showcase Malaysia’s creative talent to both local audiences and international visitors.
A City-Wide Celebration Begins Early
The countdown festival is only the climax of a broader, city-wide celebration leading up to New Year’s Eve. From 26 to 31 December, the Visit Malaysia 2026 Bazaar at Pavilion Bukit Jalil offers visitors a curated experience of local food, artisans and crafts. Meanwhile, Fahrenheit 88 hosts the Visit Malaysia 2026 Arts & Culture Showcase from 27 to 31 December, highlighting performances and cultural expressions that reflect Malaysia’s heritage.
Together, these parallel events turn the final week of the year into a cultural lead-up — inviting Malaysians and tourists alike to experience the country’s diversity before the clock even strikes twelve.
The First Public Step Into Malaysia’s Tourism Year
Jointly organised by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and The Fame Events, with the support of Tourism Malaysia, the Visit Malaysia 2026 Countdown Festival marks the first major public moment of the national tourism campaign. Backed by strategic partners including Kuala Lumpur City Hall, Istana Budaya and key cultural agencies, the event signals Malaysia’s readiness to welcome the world.
Admission is free, and visitors are encouraged to arrive early to secure the best vantage points for what promises to be one of Kuala Lumpur’s most memorable nights.
As Malaysia steps into 2026, it does so not quietly, but with light, sound, and full of culture.
