In a heartfelt effort to assist the Orang Asli community in Bukit Lanjan, MDEC, under the leadership of the Ministry of Digital, launched the Sentuhan Kasih Programme. The programme focused on giving essential food packages to 50 Orang Asli families.
A Lifeline For The Orang Asli Community
This corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative is a lifeline for the Orang Asli families who struggle to put food on the table. The delivery, personally overseen by YB Tuan Gobind Singh Deo, the Minister of Digital, underscores the government’s unwavering commitment to uplift marginalised communities.
Moreover, the Sentuhan Kasih Programme not only aims to provide basic food aid packages— it also serves as a platform to foster relationships between the government, the corporate sector, and the Orang Asli community. Through this initiative, the marginalised group will feel seen and valued, helping to bridge the gap between different socio-economic groups.
In his speech, YB Gobind shared his gratitude for participating in the programme to help the Orang Asli community:
Helping the Orang Asli community is not only fulfilling our responsibilities but also strengthening the unity and welfare of society. I will continue to support noble efforts such as this to ensure that every citizen gets the attention they deserve.

From rice and flour to cooking oil and sugar, the donation is made possible with the programme’s strategic partner, Mamee-Double Decker Distribution (M) Sdn Bhd. This partnership aims to bring meaningful change to groups who are in need while supporting more inclusive community development.
The Chief Executive Officer of MDEC, Anuar Fariz Fadzil, also echoed YB Gobind’s sentiment. Anuar Fariz stated that MDEC is continuously striving to ensure that marginalised communities benefit from CSR initiatives. Furthermore, he expressed his hope for such programmes to continue and expand in the future such as this one.
