Annice is known by many as an individual who holds onto a mission to break boundaries. Thus, she took her career even further by covering the 2018 Winter Olympics. There, 90% of the 774 accredited photographers are male.
Annice Lyn became the first female Malaysian photographer to become accredited for the 2019 Olympic Winter Games. She also founds passion in covering real stories and works alongside Getty Images as their Malaysian editor.

Annice Lyn Journey In Trading Her Skates With Cameras

In 2015, Annice Lyn had to put an end to her skating life due to her unfortunate injury. Then, she started to wander toward photography while pursuing her study as an architectural student. Annice began to capture the subject of figure skaters.
With no formal training, her works begin to gain recognition. Her work uncovering behind-the-scenes stories and the unfiltered look of the people caught the attention of the Malaysia Ice Skating Federation.
Annice Lyn began her career as an official photographer for the 12th National Figure Skating Championship. From there, she was called in as an accredited photographer for bigger events such as the 2018 Olympic Winter and 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympic Games.

Annice Lyn’s photos have been featured in international media like The Guardian, Forbes, The New York Times, and National Geographic. Her winning shot of Red Hong Yi’s “Climate Is Everything” art made the cover of Time Magazine.
She’s currently documenting refugee-to-artisan stories with NGOs and exploring traditional crafts. As Canon Youth Ambassador and co-founder of Women Photographers Malaysia, she empowers women in the field.
Annice Lyn was also listed in Forbes’ 30 Under 30. In the same month last year, she won 1st place in the Winter Sports Category at Beijing Olympics 2022.
