Worldwide Sensation BTS Pop-Up Store Now Opens In 1 Utama

The BTS Pop-Up: Map Of The Soul Showcase, a store dedicated to world star BTS has officially launched in 1 Utama Shopping Centre on 8 September 2021. The long-waited launch finally comes after a few months of postponement.

Initially, the launch was scheduled for May 2021. It was however postponed due to the movement control order (MCO) in Malaysia.

Tour Experiential Zones

The 3,300 sq ft pop-up store features different eras of BTS’s music career, taking fans down the memory lane of the successful boy band’s story. The store also has specially designed zones that reflect BTS’s music video sets and album tracks, making it a must-go place for ARMYs – BTS’s fandom.

DISCO backdrop, and
BTS’s music video playing on the LED wall

Dynamite-themed corner

Dedicated to the group’s megahit song ‘Dynamite’, the store has a special corner that only offers Dynamite-themed items. These items are available exclusively at the venue.

Dynamite is BTS’s first full English song that grants them a Grammy Award nomination. The megahit is BTS’s first number-one single in the United States, bringing the group to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart for weeks.

Moreover, the exclusive pop-up store also offers more than 300 official merchandise. These merchandises include:

Safety measures:

To comply with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)s, only fully vaccinated visitors during Phase 1 & Phase 2 of the National Recovery Plan can enter the store. The store will only allow a maximum of 30 visitors to enter at a time to practice social distancing. Also, one visitor can only stay up to a maximum of 45 minutes when visiting the store.

Meanwhile, this BTS experience is in line with 1 Utama’s expansion plans of bringing in a series of Korean attractions to its Korean-themed retail zone “District K”. Therefore, K-pop fans can expect more attractions relating to Korea in the future.
