Taman Teruntum’s Mini Zoo is the first hybrid zoo in Malaysia? No, it’s the first of its kind in the world!
If you have no idea what to do for your family activity this weekend, now you do. Experience the first ever hybrid zoo and what’s even more exciting is that it is in Kuantan, Pahang!
“It’s the Dinosaur Encounter, located at Teruntum Mini Zoo in Kuantan, Pahang. This zoo has the concept of combining real, living animals and prehistoric animatronic animals, such as dinosaurs.”
Located in Kuantan, Taman Teruntum Mini Zoo does not only display real animals, there are also extinct and prehistoric animals for you to see!
Thanks to their collaboration with the Dinosaur Encounter, the prehistoric animals seen in the zoo are in animatronic-form. What’s even more exciting about it is the Dinosaur Encounter’s Tyrannosaurus-Rex is allegedly the largest in Asia!
Out of the overall 4.4 hectare of the zoo area, only 30% are retained for real live animals while others have been renovated to accommodate other attractions.
“Of the entire area (of the zoo), about 30% will be retained for live animal exhibitions and the rest will be developed through edu-tourism projects which will also house themed cafes, dinosaur laboratories and so on,” shared Majlis Bandaraya Kuantan (MBK) Secretary, Datuk Hamiza Hamzah.
After their major renovation work, it is now back in operation and has welcomed the public to enjoy the variation of attractions there. Among the main attractions including as mentioned above are:
